Political Injustice

For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it. But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it. (Proverbs 2:21-22)

Keep Political Injustice in Perspective
I am often struck by how upset believers become over injustice in today’s political realm. We should not be surprised when sinners act sinfully. Nor should we expect the world to improve simply because politicians promise that it will. Scripture warns, “But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived” (2 Timothy 3:13).
Stay Informed—and Pray
That does not mean we should ignore what is happening. We should remain aware so that we can pray wisely for our nation and its leaders. However, I refuse to become consumed by injustice, lose sleep over it, or let it fill me with stress.
God says that the wicked will be cut off from the earth and that transgressors will be rooted out. Therefore, I will trust God to deal with them while I pray for their souls to be saved.
Remain Rooted in God’s Word
David wrote:
“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish” (Psalms 1:1–6).
Choose Uprightness
If you remain upright, you will ultimately see every wicked way perish.
