Do You Realize Who Jesus Is?

And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. (1 John 5:20)

Was Jesus just a good teacher, or was He God? The Bible’s answer is clear, and it wasn’t a secret. The apostles said it openly, the prophets pointed to it, and Jesus said it Himself. When Paul stood before King Agrippa, he said the story of Jesus “was not done in a corner” (Acts 26:26). Jesus revealed Himself to His disciples, and they told the world.
The apostles taught it plainly
Paul wrote to Timothy: “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory” (1 Timothy 3:16).
Matthew reached back to Isaiah’s prophecy: “Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us” (Matthew 1:23). Emmanuel means “God with us.” Jesus said it Himself
“Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world. I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins” (John 8:23-24).
When Jesus told a paralyzed man, “Son, thy sins be forgiven thee,” the scribes objected: “Who can forgive sins but God only?” (Mark 2:5-7).
They were right that only God can forgive sins. And Jesus did.
“And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life” (1 John 5:20). Jesus once asked His disciples, “Who do you say that I am?” It’s a question every person has to answer. Do you realize who He is?
